What
is Mill Street Market?
We are a
discount grocery store that sells surplus
and 'bent and dent' product. You will find
our interior clean and the atmosphere
pleasant.
We
encourage recycling; so bring your own
bags and receive an extra punch on your
FREQUENT BUYERS CARD (free to all
customers).
We also
provide BULK FOODS and LONG TERM storage
items and packaging along with many variedREADINESS
items such as; Berkey Water Purification
Systems, Wiggy camping and survival
equipment, All American Canners and
more.

Where
do we get your
products?
If a
case of green beans gets dropped, and a
couple of cans get bent, those cans (and
sometimes the whole case) don't make it to
the grocery store shelves. Instead, they
are sold to stores, like ours.
Sometimes
undamaged grocery items become discounted
because their "use by" date was getting
close, or because the item just didn't
sell well in that area. Jalapenos sell
very well in Texas, maybe not so well in
Wisconsin. Seasonal and holiday items make
their way to our shelves too.
For your
convenience, milk, free-range eggs,
butter, cheese, meats, and cold soft
drinks. We also offer frozen meats,
dinners, vegetables, desserts,
etc.
What
will you find at Mill Street Market
?
In
general you can look to find a 30-70%
savings on most items. Actual prices will
depend on the prices we are able to secure
and vary from shipment to
shipment.
What
does it mean if a product is "out of
date"?
It means
just about nothing. While perishable
groceries (ie:milk) have expiration dates
that matter, the "best use by" dates on
non-perishable groceries are mostly
measures for making sure grocers rotate
their stock efficiently. A bottle of
Italian dressing is just as good a month
after it's "best use by" date as it was a
month before it's "best use by" date. As
long as the seal is intact or the vacuum
is good, the product is still
fine.
What
methods of payment do we
accept?
We
accept Visa, MasterCard, EBT (Food
Stamps), and Cash. |
